Durran Does Portugal!
While most of us were tucked up in bed, sipping tea and reading the dailies, the indefatigable Adrian Durran of ATC was doing the Half Ironman in Portugal. The Meeting of Two Sporting Icons!
Formula 1 speedster and thoroughly good bloke,Jenson Button, could not pass up the opportunity to have his photo taken with ATC's own sporting legend Stewart Catt.
Interviewed after the recent Sevenoaks Tri, Jenson said that it was great to participate in a real sport for a change and that finally getting to meet the legedary Catty was the cherry on top. Jenson was happy with his performance at Sevenoaks but said that his time would have been better if he had not stopped to refuel and change tyres on the cycle leg.
An ATC Membership Form is currently winging its way to Mr Button.

Well. Well. Well. Look what the cat dragged in! The Webmaster is back in town after two and a bit weeks of glorious weather in sunny South Africa.
Whilst I was working on my tan and getting charged by a bull elephant without a sense of humor, some members of ATC were in action at the Sevenoaks Sprint Triathlon. See the NEWS page for a full report from our tireless MensTeam Captain Ian Port. Well Done to those that took part! A rarity for ATC is that no women members participated. Come on girls! You normally walk away with the trophies!

GATWICK SPORTIVE
Ian, has found a good training ride for all. Check out Evanscycles/rideit. There are three different distances. The first event is on the 30 March and then the next 30 April both go from Gatwick and cost £10 with refreshments and fluids thrown in. Ideal for people to get the miles in before Ironman.

Ahhh gay Paris. The city of love, romance, style and culture. Its tree lined avenues, wide open boulevards and beautiful parks, warm the heart and continue to enchant both residents and visitors alike. I cannot think of a more beautiful place in the world to spend Mothers Day with your beloved. In fact I go In Seine every time I go there.
This is where ATC's Ian and Philippe took their better halves for the weekend. What a romantic gesture guys! I'm welling up just at the thought.What a coincidence that the Paris Half Marathon was on the same day. See their race report on the NEWS page.

Look on the EVENTS link to see how you fared. Humble apologies for the delay in getting the results out. I have been bed ridden for the past two days with a bout of Bird Flu. I caught it from the missus!
I must have been coming down with it on Sunday because when I updated the website after the race I forgot to mention and thank pod+ and Tim Sutton our wonderful sponsors. Sorry about that guys. You just can't get the staff these days. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all the competitors who sent us feedback both good and bad. We at ATC have learned at lot by putting on this event and we are sure that this event will continue to go from strength to strength.

A huge thank you to all who took part in this years event and I hope you all enjoyed it as much we at ATC did. Congratulations to the winners and commiserations to my old mate Justin Mills, who narrowly missed out on retaining his title.
A big thumbs up up to ATC own women's team captain, Christine. She was first female home. I hope you managed to get the mud off your face Christine. It looked like a really bad fake tan.
The full list of results is currently being tabulated and should be available on this site on Tuesday.
As you all know, this event is still in its infancy and we at ATC would like to stage more events of this kind. If you took part in today's race we would love to know what you thought of today's event and what we could do to improve it for next time. Don't complain about the marshals though. I was one and I don't handle criticism very well. In fact, my therapist said that just one incy wincey bit of bad news could finally push me over the edge.
Our long term goal is to make this event the premier Off Road Duathlon in the South East. Please e-mail your comments, good or bad to the race organizer, Mark Turner.

Permission has finally been received from the Forestry Commission for ATC to hold the much lauded Kings Wood Dualthlon on 09/03/2008. This event is hot! Last year it was talked about more than the Tour De France coming to Kent.
Don't be disappointed as I was last year. Get your entries in now. Entry forms now available via the events page. Simply download and post off. Couldn't be easier. Snooze you looze!
We also need volunteers to help marshall the event. Events this good don't just happen. Last year the marshalling was of a very high standard. I should know. I was one. So if you want to give the club a much needed helping hand, let race organizer and all round good chap, Mark Turner know. He can be contacted on m.turner@met.uk.com. Come on guys we need you! Get the family involved. If Granny is just sitting in front of the telly waiting for the East Enders omnibus, bring her along. She will be back in time. I promise. Just a couple of hours on a Spring Sunday morning. It's not too much to ask.You may even get a goody bag for your trouble.
ANOTHER GREAT WIN FOR ATC's NICKI BARRON!!!
Once again our Nicki has done the club proud by winning the Thanet Duathlon. This was Nicki's 4th win at the event & 3rd consecutive win.
Nicki set the pace for the day leading the women's race into the first 2.5 mile run & didn't relinquish the pole position all day completing the event in a very respectable 1hr 46 mins.
