Below are our weekly training sessions, but please check the calendar for updated dates of sessions & other ATC events. Click on a month below to view:

TUESDAY SWIMMING

ATC coached swim session. The group will be divided into lanes, dependent on ability and a group coaching session given by Christine Johnson (ASA Level II Coach). Suitable for all standards.
DAY OF WEEK: Tuesday
TIME: 8-9pm
LOCATION: Swimming Pool at Ashford School, East Hill, Ashford (MAP)
Enter via pedestrian gate (last entrance on right if walking uphill) - follow driveway almost all the way to tennis courts, just before is a footpath on the left to the swimming pool building. Once inside - changing room on right, pool on left.
WHAT TO BRING: Swimming costume, goggles, drink, swimming hat, towel & if you have them - kick float & pull bouy. £4 per session.

WEDNESDAY CYCLE TIME TRIALS (TTs) (SUMMER)


This is a weekly cycle time trial run by Ashford Wheelers Club over a 10mile circuit. Riders set off at minute intervals and ride as hard as possible to get to the finish in the fastest possible time!
It is a great way to build an intensive training session into your week and you are able to chart your progress through the season, with (hopefully) quicker & quicker times. £1-£2 to enter - Times recorded & can be viewed at end or on the AW web later.
DAY OF WEEK: Wednesday
TIME: 7pm start (arrive earlier to register, pay & warm-up)
LOCATION: A28 Great Chart By-Pass - meet in the layby SW of footbridge (MAP)

WEDNESDAY CIRCUITS (WINTER)


An indoor fitness session held during the winter months suitable for all. Good warm up with stretching, shuttle runs & team games, followed by a predominately body weight circuit with some core stability to really add strength & tone during the off season.

TIME: 7-8pm
LOCATION: Indoor Shute, Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford (MAP)
WHAT TO BRING: Indoor clothing & training shoes, drink & small towel. £1 per session.

WEDNESDAY TURBO/RUN (WINTER)


The session is split into two depending on what you would like to take part in. Turbo is a cycle turbo session (stationary bike), which is a great way to improve cycle fitness indoors. The club has 3 turbo's for club members to borrow - please e-mail if you would like to book one - NB - you will need a road bike of your own to attach to it. If you do not want to cycle train - you can join the running group for a track or road running session.

WHAT TO BRING: Indoor clothing & training shoes, drink & small towel. If turboing - turbo trainer & bike (HRM would also be useful). If running - outdoor running kit. £1 per session.

WEDNESDAY SWIMMING


Ashford Town Swimming Club - Masters swim session. Occasionally coaching is given by Dave from ATSC. The swimming club require you to join the masters group and pay for sessions monthly by direct debit. Please ask a member of ATSC for more information on the night.
DAY OF WEEK: Wednesday
TIME: 8-9pm
LOCATION: Swimming Pool at Stour Centre, Ashford (MAP)
WHAT TO BRING: Swimming costume, goggles, drink, swimming hat, towel & if you have them - kick float & pull bouy

THURSDAY RUN (SUMMER ONLY)


A group run which may incorporates either a hill or a speed session or an off road hilly run depending on the weather (please keep an eye out for email updates re meeting point changes etc).
DAY OF WEEK: Thursday
TIME: 7pm
LOCATION: Outside Wye Village Church (opposite Coop)

SATURDAY SWIMMING

SATURDAY RUN

A group run on the trails in Kings Wood. This is an easy paced run, suitable for beginners or those wanting a nice slower paced run. Duration 30mins, building up to one hour by the summer.
DAY OF WEEK: Saturday
TIME: 10am
LOCATION: Meet in the main car park at Kings Wood, Challock, Nr Ashford (MAP)
WHAT TO BRING: Suitable running kit for the weather & training shoes/trail shoes
WHO TO CONTACT: No group leader at present, so just turn up

SUNDAY CYCLING


A group cycling session on Sunday mornings. The main group ride for 2-3hrs and you would be expected to keep up the pace of the group, so some riding experience is necessary. A 2nd group ride on selected Sundays at a slower pace and a duration on 1-2hrs - novices & people wanting an easier ride are welcome to join this group.

DAY OF WEEK: Sunday
TIME: 9am start
LOCATION: Julie Rose Stadium, Willesborough Rd, Ashford (MAP). The car park is open from 8.30am and is free. Showers/changing/lockers/refreshements available at the stadium.
WHAT TO BRING: Wear cycling clothing appropriate for the weather (gloves, overshoes, wind/water proof when wet & cold), Helmet (compulsory), mobile phone & money in case of emergency, puncture repair kit, tyre levers, spare tube, multi tool, pump.

SUNDAY OPEN WATER SWIMMING (SUMMER ONLY)


A series of timed open water swim sessions in Dover Harbour throughout the summer months to allow you to practise open water swimming and get an accurate time over a set course.

TIME: 3-4pm
LOCATION: Dover Harbour - meet outside the Dover Watersports Centre (see DW website for location)
WHAT TO BRING: Wetsuit, swimming costume or tri suit, goggles, drink, brightly coloured (ATC Yellow) swimming hat, towel.
